Years of hard work and resilience have led me to what I love most—a career that makes a positive difference in people’s lives.

Every single job I’ve had has prepared me for my career as a REALTOR®. Looking back, it’s amazing how all the dots in my life connect to bring me here.
It started when I was a teenager working for my mom, who was an attorney. That experience gave me an early understanding of legal jargon, contracts, and deeds—skills that still serve me today. Later, I worked at a tax office, where I learned about property taxes, taxable values, and the financial implications of buying and selling real estate.
A pivotal moment came when I worked for a consulting firm contracted by the Texas Department of Transportation. My role involved helping landowners through the process of the acquisition of their property. Through countless conversations with them, I developed a more profound appreciation for the value of land. I learned to dig deeper understanding how details like water, trees, and location could impact a property’s worth. I even started using the MLS to research properties for landowners displaced by the project who were in need of relocation. This planted the seeds for my future in real estate.

When the economy crashed, the state of Texas couldn’t afford our firm, and I suddenly found myself without a job. As a single mom with three young kids—Bethany, David, and Ava—it was terrifying. I went on unemployment, which, in hindsight, was a blessing because it allowed me to focus on my children and reevaluate my next steps calmly.

I had a growing passion for real estate, but the time was not right. My children were young, and they needed me to be present for them. When my eldest was old enough to help more with her siblings, I was then able to focus more on my career. Once I earned my license, I gave the work everything I had. Owning a business as a single mom wasn’t easy, but I was determined, and the fact I knew so many people in the area helped jump start my business. In my first year, I handled nearly every type of transaction imaginable—luxury homes, ranches, commercial properties, foreclosures—you name it. I learned quickly and built a thriving referral-based business. To this day, my clients come almost exclusively through word of mouth, which is something I’m deeply proud of.

I believe one of the reasons I’ve succeeded is that I have a servant’s heart—a gift I got from my parents, who are the biggest givers I know. When COVID hit, the soup kitchen my dad volunteers at in town shut down. He didn’t let the closure stop him; instead, Mathew 25:35 (our family non-profit) was born. As a family, we passed out sandwiches, waters, and snacks to those in need. That experience inspired me to collaborate on the 903 Foundation, a nonprofit that raises funds for other nonprofits and guides people toward resources that can support them. Helping others really warms my heart.

I also love singing, dancing, hiking, and traveling, but my greatest joy is working alongside my three kids. They help me manage files, update listings, and run social media. My son David, who is on the spectrum, is my right-hand man during showings and listing photos. He also gives his unique perspective on properties, which I upload to my Instagram. He has become a crowd favorite. Anything David says is InstaGold!
Looking ahead, one of my biggest goals is to start a nonprofit to help adults with special needs build meaningful connections and lasting friendships. I want David—and others like him—to have a strong, supportive community as they grow older.
Real estate has given me so much more than a career—it’s allowed me to serve people, work alongside my family, and build a life rooted in purpose. Every twist and turn led me exactly where I was meant to be, and for that, I’m profoundly grateful.

What sets me apart as a REALTOR® is how deeply I care about my clients and their goals. I never take their trust for granted and approach every transaction with a genuine desire to give with an open heart. If my clients have a need, I make it my mission to meet it.
One of my strengths is marketing homes effectively. I love showcasing properties through multiple channels, from targeted ads to social media. I create immersive 360° virtual tours that allow potential buyers to experience an open house from anywhere—seeing every detail of the home, including floor plans and features.
I’m also highly accessible and make myself available to speak with clients whenever they need me. With years of experience in legal and tax offices, I bring a unique understanding of contracts, tax regulations, and strategies for minimizing property-related taxes in Texas. My clients can count on me for highly specialized advice to guide them confidently through every step of the process.
Sincerely,

Danae D. Oglesby
